Cxapitro 1
1 Profetajxo, kiun lauxvizie eldiris la profeto Hxabakuk.
The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.
2 Gxis kiam, ho Eternulo, mi krios, kaj Vi ne auxskultos, mi
krios al Vi pri perfortajxo, kaj Vi ne helpos?
O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even
cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!
3 Kial Vi devigas min vidi maljustajxon, rigardi mizerajxon?
Rabado kaj perfortado estas antaux mi, levigxas disputoj kaj
malpaco.
Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold
grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and
there are that raise up strife and contention.
4 Tial la instruo perdis sian forton, la justeco neniam
venkas; cxar la malvirtulo superfortas la virtulon, tial la
rezultoj de jugxo estas malgxustaj.
Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go
forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous;
therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.
5 Rigardu la naciojn, rigardu, kaj vi forte miros; cxar en via
tempo Mi faros ion, kion vi ne kredus, se oni rakontus al
vi.
Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder
marvelously: for I will work a work in your days which ye
will not believe, though it be told you.
6 Cxar jen Mi levos la Hxaldeojn, nacion kruelan kaj lertan,
kiu trairos la tutan largxon de la tero, por ekposedi
logxejojn, kiuj ne apartenas al gxi.
For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty
nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land,
to possess the dwellingplaces that are not their's.
7 Terura kaj timinda gxi estas; gxia jugxado kaj regado
dependas de gxi mem.
They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their
dignity shall proceed of themselves.
8 Pli rapidaj ol leopardoj estas gxiaj cxevaloj, kaj pli
lertaj ol lupoj vespere; en grandaj amasoj venas gxiaj
rajdantoj de malproksime, flugas kiel aglo, kiu rapidas al
mangxajxo.
Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are
more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen
shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from
far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.
9 Cxiuj ili venas por rabi; kiel vento orienta ili direktas
sin, kien ili volas; kaj ili kolektas kaptitojn kiel sablon.
They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up
as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the
sand.
10 Regxojn ili mokas, regantoj estas ridatajxo por ili; cxiun
fortikajxon ili mokas; ili sxutas teron, kaj venkoprenas.
And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be
a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for
they shall heap dust, and take it.
11 Tiam sxangxigxas ilia spirito, transiras kaj farigxas peka,
kaj ilia forto farigxas ilia dio.
Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and
offend, imputing this his power unto his god.
12 Sed Vi estas ja de cxiam, ho Eternulo, mia sankta Dio! ne
lasu nin morti. Vi, ho Eternulo, aperigis ilin por jugxo;
Vi, ho nia Roko, destinis ilin por puni.
Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One?
we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for
judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for
correction.
13 Viaj okuloj estas tro puraj, por vidi malbonon, kaj rigardi
maljustajxon Vi ne povas; kiel do Vi rigardas
malhonestulojn, kaj silentas, kiam malpiulo englutas tiun,
kiu estas pli virta ol li?
Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not
look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal
treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked
devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?
14 Kial Vi faras la homojn kiel fisxoj en la maro, kiel
rampajxoj, kiuj ne havas reganton?
And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping
things, that have no ruler over them?
15 Cxiujn ili tiras per fisxhoko, kaptas per sia reto, amasigas
per sia fisxreto; kaj tial ili gxojas kaj triumfas.
They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in
their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they
rejoice and are glad.
16 Tial ili alportas oferojn al sia reto, incensas al sia
fisxreto; cxar per cxi tiuj grasigxis ilia parto kaj
bonigxis ilia mangxajxo.
Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense
unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and
their meat plenteous.
17 Cxu por tio ili devas jxetadi sian reton kaj sencxese
mortigadi naciojn senindulge?
Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare
continually to slay the nations?
Cxapitro 2
1 Sur mia gardista posteno mi staris; kaj, starigxinte sur
turo, mi observis, por vidi, kion Li diros al mi kaj kion mi
devas respondi al la riprocxo kontraux mi.
I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and
will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall
answer when I am reproved.
2 Kaj la Eternulo ekparolis al mi, kaj diris: Enskribu la
vizion, kaj desegnu bone sur la tabeloj, por ke leganto povu
facile tralegi.
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and
make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3 Cxar la vizio koncernas tempon difinitan kaj parolas pri la
fino, sed gxi ne mensogas; se gxi prokrastigxus, atendu
gxin, cxar gxi nepre plenumigxos, ne estos fordecidita.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end
it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it;
because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4 Vidu, kiu estas malhumila, ties animo ne estos trankvila en
li; sed virtulo vivos per sia fideleco.
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him:
but the just shall live by his faith.
5 La vino trompas viron fieran, kaj li ne humiligxas; li
largxigas sian animon kiel Sxeol, kaj kiel la morto li estas
nesatigebla, li kolektas al si cxiujn naciojn kaj kaptas al
si cxiujn popolojn.
Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud
man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as
hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but
gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all
people:
6 Sed ili ja cxiuj parolos pri li alegorion kaj mokan enigmon,
kaj diros: Ve al tiu, kiu tro multigas al si fremdajxon sen
fino kaj metas sur sin tro grandan sxargxon de sxuldoj!
Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a
taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that
increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that
ladeth himself with thick clay!
7 Subite ja levigxos viaj pikontoj kaj vekigxos viaj
pusxontoj, kaj vi farigxos ilia rabatajxo.
Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and
awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties
unto them?
8 Cxar vi prirabis multe da nacioj, tial ankaux vin prirabos
la ceteraj popoloj, pro la sango de homoj, pro la premado de
la lando, de la urbo, kaj de cxiuj gxiaj logxantoj.
Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of
the people shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and for
the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell
therein.
9 Ve al tiu, kiu kolektas por sia domo maljustan akirajxon,
por arangxi alte sian neston, por defendi sin kontraux mano
de malbonulo!
Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house,
that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered
from the power of evil!
10 Vi elpensis malhonoron por via domo, disbatante multe da
popoloj kaj pekigante vian animon.
Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many
people, and hast sinned against thy soul.
11 La sxtonoj el la muroj krias, kaj la lignaj traboj respondas
al vi.
For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of
the timber shall answer it.
12 Ve al tiu, kiu konstruas urbon per sangoversxado kaj
pretigas fortikajxon per maljusteco!
Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth
a city by iniquity!
13 Tio venas ja de la Eternulo Cebaot, ke la popoloj klopodas
por la fajro kaj la gentoj lacigas sin vane.
Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall
labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary
themselves for very vanity?
14 Cxar la tero plenigxos de konado de la gloro de la Eternulo,
kiel la akvo plenigas la maron.
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the
glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
15 Ve al vi, kiu drinkigas sian proksimulon, por elversxi vian
koleron, kaj ebriigas lin, por vidi lian honton!
Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest
thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou
mayest look on their nakedness!
16 Vi satigxis per honto anstataux per honoro; drinku do ankaux
vi, kaj kovru vin per honto; ankaux al vi venos la kaliko el
la dekstra mano de la Eternulo, kaj neniigo de via gloro.
Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and
let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD's right
hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall
be on thy glory.
17 Cxar via perforteco sur Lebanon falos sur vin, kaj atakate
de bestoj vi estos terurata pro la sango de homoj, pro la
premado de la lando, de la urbo, kaj de cxiuj gxiaj
logxantoj.
For the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil
of beasts, which made them afraid, because of men's blood,
and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all
that dwell therein.
18 Kion helpos la skulptajxo, kiun skulptis la artisto, la
fanditajxo kaj malvera instruanto, kvankam la majstro fidis
sian propran faritajxon, farante mutajn idolojn?
What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath
graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the
maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
19 Ve al tiu, kiu diras al ligno: Levigxu, kaj al muta sxtono:
Vekigxu! Cxu gxi povas instrui? gxi estas ja tegita per oro
kaj argxento, sed havas en si nenian spiriton.
Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb
stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with
gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst
of it.
20 Sed la Eternulo estas en Sia sankta templo; la tuta tero
silentu antaux Li!
But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep
silence before him.
Cxapitro 3
1 Pregxo de la profeto Hxabakuk laux maniero de psalmoj.
A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.
2 Ho Eternulo, mi auxdis la sciigon pri Vi, kaj mi
ektimis.
Ho Eternulo, vivigu Vian faritajxon en la mezo de la
jaroj,
Montru en la mezo de la jaroj,
Ke ecx en kolero Vi memoras pri kompato.
O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD,
revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of
the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
3 Dio venas de Teman,
La Sanktulo de la monto Paran. Sela.
Lia majesto kovras la cxielon,
Kaj Lia gloro plenigas la teron.
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran.
Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full
of his praise.
4 Lia brilo estas kiel hela lumo,
Radioj iras el Lia mano,
Kaj tie estas kasxita Lia potenco.
And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out
of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.
5 Antaux Li iras pesto,
Kaj fajro sekvas Liajn piedojn.
Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth
at his feet.
6 Li starigxis, kaj ekmezuris la teron;
Li ekrigardis, kaj tremigis la naciojn;
Dissaltis eternaj montoj,
Klinigxis eternaj montetoj,
Kiam Li ekpasxis kiel en la tempo antikva.
He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove
asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were
scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways are
everlasting.
7 En mizera stato mi vidis la tendojn de Kusxan;
Skuigxis la tapisxoj de la lando Midjan.
I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction: and the curtains of
the land of Midian did tremble.
8 Cxu kontraux riveroj koleris la Eternulo?
Cxu kontraux la riveroj Vi ekflamigxis,
Aux cxu kontraux la maro estis Via indigno,
Ke Vi ekrajdis sur Viaj cxevaloj,
Ekveturis sur Viaj venkaj cxaroj?
Was the LORD displeased against the rivers? was thine anger
against the rivers? was thy wrath against the sea, that thou
didst ride upon thine horses and thy chariots of salvation?
9 Vi eltiris Vian pafarkon,
Konforme al jxura promeso, kiun Vi donis al la triboj.
Sela.
Per riveroj Vi dividis la teron.
Thy bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the
tribes, even thy word. Selah. Thou didst cleave the earth
with rivers.
10 Ektremis la montoj, kiam ili Vin vidis;
La fluo de la akvo pasis,
La abismo ekbruis,
La altajxo levis siajn manojn.
The mountains saw thee, and they trembled: the overflowing
of the water passed by: the deep uttered his voice, and
lifted up his hands on high.
11 La suno kaj la luno haltis sur sia loko;
Kun brilo iras Viaj sagoj,
Kun fulmo Viaj lancoj.
The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the
light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy
glittering spear.
12 Kun kolero Vi pasxas sur la tero,
Kun indigno Vi piedpremas naciojn.
Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst
thresh the heathen in anger.
13 Vi elpasxis, por helpi al Via popolo,
Por helpi al Via sanktoleito.
Vi frakasas la supron de la domo de malpiulo,
Nudigas la fundamenton gxis la kolo. Sela.
Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for
salvation with thine anointed; thou woundedst the head out
of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation
unto the neck. Selah.
14 Vi trapikis per liaj lancoj la kapojn de liaj
tacxmentestroj,
Kiam ili sin jxetis ventege, por dispeli min kun gxojo,
Kvazaux englutante mizerulon kasxe.
Thou didst strike through with his staves the head of his
villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their
rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly.
15 Vi pasxis kun Viaj cxevaloj tra la maro,
Tra la sxlimo de granda akvo.
Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses, through
the heap of great waters.
16 Mi auxdis, kaj mia interno ekskuigxis;
Pro la bruo ektremis miaj lipoj,
Putro venis en miajn ostojn, kaj la loko sub mi
eksxanceligxis;
Dume mi devas esti trankvila en la tago de malfelicxo,
Kiam sur mian popolon iras gxia atakanto.
When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the
voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in
myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he
cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his
troops.
17 Kiam la figarbo ne floros,
La vinberbrancxoj ne donos fruktojn,
La olivarbo rifuzos sian laboron,
La plugokampoj ne donos mangxajxon,
La sxafoj estos forkaptitaj el la sxafejo,
Kaj en la staloj ne trovigxos bovoj:
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit
be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the
fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from
the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
18 Ecx tiam mi gxojos pri la Eternulo,
Mi estos gaja pri la Dio de mia savo.
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my
salvation.
19 La Eternulo, la Sinjoro, estas mia forto;
Li faras miajn piedojn kiel cxe cervo,
Kaj venigas min sur miajn altajxojn.
Al Li, la Venkanto, iru miaj kantoj.
The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like
hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high
places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
