Cxapitro 1
1 En la dua jaro de la regxo Dario, en la sesa monato, en la
unua tago de la monato, aperis vorto de la Eternulo per la
profeto Hxagaj al Zerubabel, filo de Sxealtiel, regionestro
de Judujo, kaj al la cxefpastro Josuo, filo de Jehocadak,
dirante:
In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month,
in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by
Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel,
governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the
high priest, saying,
2 Tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot: Tiu popolo diras, ke
ankoraux ne venis la tempo, por konstrui la domon de la
Eternulo.
Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say,
The time is not come, the time that the LORD's house should
be built.
3 Sed aperis vorto de la Eternulo per la profeto Hxagaj,
dirante:
Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet,
saying,
4 Cxu por vi mem estas nun la gxusta tempo, por sidi en viaj
tabulitaj domoj, dum tiu domo estas ruinoj?
Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses,
and this house lie waste?
5 Nun tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot: Pripensu bone vian
staton:
Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your
ways.
6 vi semas multe, sed enportas malmulte; vi mangxas, sed ne
gxissate; vi trinkas, sed ne gxisebrie; vi vestas vin, sed
ne estas al vi varme; kiu laborenspezas monon, tiu
laborenspezas por truhava saketo.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have
not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye
clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth
wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
7 Tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot: Pripensu bone vian staton.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
8 Iru sur la monton, prenu lignon, kaj konstruu la domon; Mi
akceptos gxin favore, kaj Mi montros Mian gloron, diras la
Eternulo.
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house;
and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified,
saith the LORD.
9 Vi atendis multon, sed montrigxis, ke estas malmulte; kaj
kion vi alportis hejmen, tion Mi disblovis. Pro kio tiel
estas? diris la Eternulo Cebaot; pro tio, ke Mia domo estas
dezerta, dum vi kuras cxiu al sia domo.
Ye looked for much, and, lo it came to little; and when ye
brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of
hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every
man unto his own house.
10 Pro tio la cxielo ne donas al vi roson kaj la tero ne donas
siajn produktajxojn.
Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the
earth is stayed from her fruit.
11 Kaj Mi alvokis sekecon sur la teron, sur la montojn, sur la
grenon, sur la moston, sur la oleon, kaj sur cxion, kion
produktas la tero, ankaux sur la homon, sur la bruton, kaj
sur cxiun laboron de la manoj.
And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the
mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and
upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth,
and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of
the hands.
12 Zerubabel, file de Sxealtiel, kaj la cxefpastro Josuo, filo
de Jehocadak, kaj la tuta cetera popolo auxskultis la vocxon
de la Eternulo, ilia Dio, kaj la vortojn de la profeto
Hxagaj, kun kiuj lin sendis la Eternulo, ilia Dio; kaj la
popolo ektimis la Eternulon.
Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of
Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the
people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the
words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent
him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
13 Kaj Hxagaj, la sendito de la Eternulo, diris al la popolo en
la nomo de la Eternulo jene: Mi estas kun vi, diras la
Eternulo.
Then spake Haggai the LORD's messenger in the LORD's message
unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD.
14 Kaj la Eternulo vigligis la spiriton de Zerubabel, filo de
Sxealtiel, regionestro de Judujo, kaj la spiriton de la
cxefpastro Josuo, filo de Jehocadak, kaj la spiriton de la
tuta cetera popolo; kaj ili venis kaj komencis labori en la
domo de la Eternulo Cebaot, ilia Dio,
And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of
Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the
son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the
remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the
house of the LORD of hosts, their God,

In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the
second year of Darius the king.

1 En la sepa monato, en la dudek-unua tago de la monato,
aperis vorto de la Eternulo per la profeto Hxagaj, dirante:
In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the
month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet Haggai,
saying,
2 Diru al Zerubabel, filo de Sxealtiel, regionestro de Judujo,
kaj al la cxefpastro Josuo, filo de Jehocadak, kaj al la
cetera popolo jene:
Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of
Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest,
and to the residue of the people, saying,
3 Kiu restis inter vi, kiu vidis cxi tiun domon en gxia
antauxa belegeco? kaj kion vi vidas en gxi nun? cxu gxi ne
aperas antaux viaj okuloj kiel nenio?
Who is left among you that saw this house in her first
glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in
comparison of it as nothing?
4 Sed estu kuragxa, ho Zerubabel, diras la Eternulo; estu
kuragxa, ho cxefpastro Josuo, filo de Jehocadak; estu
kuragxa, ho tuta popolo de la lando, diras la Eternulo; kaj
laboru, cxar Mi estas kun vi, diras la Eternulo Cebaot.
Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be
strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be
strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work:
for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:
5 Konforme al la interligo, kiun Mi faris kun vi, kiam vi
eliris el Egiptujo, Mia spirito estas inter vi; ne timu.
According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye
came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye
not.
6 Cxar tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot: Pasos malmulte da temo,
kaj Mi ekmovos la cxielon kaj la teron, la maron kaj la
sekteron;
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little
while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the
sea, and the dry land;
7 Mi skuos cxiujn popolojn; kaj venos io cxarma por cxiuj
nacioj, kaj Mi plenigos cxi tiun domon per gloro, diras la
Eternulo Cebaot.
And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations
shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the
LORD of hosts.
8 Al Mi apartenas la argxento kaj al Mi apartenas la oro,
diras la Eternulo Cebaot.
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of
hosts.
9 La gloro de cxi tiu lasta domo estos pli granda, ol de la
antauxa, diras la Eternulo Cebaot; kaj sur cxi tiu loko Mi
donos pacon, diras la Eternulo Cebaot.
The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the
former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I
give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
10 En la dudek-kvara tago de la nauxa monato, en la dua jaro de
Dario, aperis vorto de la Eternulo per la profeto Hxagaj,
dirante:
In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the
second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD by Haggai
the prophet, saying,
11 Tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot: Petu de la pastroj instruon,
kaj diru:
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning
the law, saying,
12 Jen homo portis sanktigitan viandon en la basko de sia
vesto, kaj per sia basko li ektusxis panon aux ion kuiritan
aux vinon aux oleon aux ian mangxajxon--cxu gxi tiam
farigxos sankta? La pastroj respondis kaj diris: Ne.
If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with
his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or
any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and
said, No.
13 Hxagaj plue diris: Kaj se cxion cxi tion ektusxos iu, kiu
malpurigxis per mortinto--cxu gxi tiam malpurigxos? La
pastroj respondis kaj diris: Gxi malpurigxos.
Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body
touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests
answered and said, It shall be unclean.
14 Tiam Hxagaj diris: Tia estas cxi tiu popolo, kaj tia estas
cxi tiu gento antaux Mi, diras la Eternulo, kaj tiaj estas
cxiuj faroj de iliaj manoj; kaj cxio, kion ili tie alportas,
estas malpura.
Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is
this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work
of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.
15 Nun pripensu bone la tempon de cxi tiu tago malantauxen,
antaux ol estis metita sxtono sur sxtonon en la templo de la
Eternulo:
And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from
before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the
LORD:
16 kiam iu venis al garbaro, kiu devis havi dudek mezurojn, gxi
havis nur dek; kiam iu venis al la vinpremejo, por cxerpi
kvindek mezurojn, trovigxis nur dudek;
Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty
measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat
for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were
but twenty.
17 Mi frapis vin per sekiga vento, per forvelkado kaj per hajlo
cxiujn laborojn de viaj manoj, sed vi tamen ne turnis vin al
Mi, diras la Eternulo.
I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in
all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me,
saith the LORD.
18 Pripensu bone la tempon de cxi tiu tago malantauxen, de la
dudek-kvara tago de la nauxa monato, de la tago, en kiu
estas fondita la templo de la Eternulo; pripensu bone;
Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and
twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the
foundation of the LORD's temple was laid, consider it.
19 cxu trovigxas semoj en la grenejo? gxis nun la
vinberbrancxo, la figarbo, la granatarbo, kaj la olivarbo ne
donis fruktojn; sed de post cxi tiu tago Mi vin benos.
Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the
fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not
brought forth: from this day will I bless you.
20 Kaj duafoje aperis vorto de la Eternulo al Hxagaj en la
dudek-kvara tago de la monato, dirante:
And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four
and twentieth day of the month, saying,
21 Diru al Zerubabel, regionestro de Judujo, jene: Mi ekmovos
la cxielon kaj la teron;
Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake
the heavens and the earth;
22 Mi renversos tronojn de regnoj, Mi ekstermos la forton de
regnoj de la nacioj, Mi renversos cxarojn kun iliaj
veturantoj; falos la cxevaloj, kaj iliaj rajdantoj falos unu
de glavo de alia.
And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will
destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I
will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them;
and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one
by the sword of his brother.
23 En tiu tempo, diras la Eternulo Cebaot, Mi prenos vin, ho
Zerubabel, Mia servanto, filo de Sxealtiel, diras la
Eternulo, kaj Mi konservos vin kiel sigelringon; cxar vin Mi
elektis, diras la Eternulo Cebaot.
In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O
Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the
LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen
thee, saith the LORD of hosts.
