Cxapitro 1
1 Pauxlo, servisto de Dio kaj apostolo de Jesuo Kristo, laux
la fido de la elektitoj de Dio, kaj laux la scio de la vero,
kiu estas laux pieco,
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ,
according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging
of the truth which is after godliness;
2 kun espero al eterna vivo, kiun la senmensoga Dio promesis
antaux la tempoj eternaj,
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie,
promised before the world began;
3 sed gxustatempe Li elmontris Sian vorton en la anonco, kiu
estas al mi konfidita konforme al la ordono de Dio, nia
Savanto;
But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching,
which is committed unto me according to the commandment of
God our Saviour;
4 al Tito, mia vera filo laux komuna fido: Graco kaj paco de
Dio, la Patro, kaj de Kristo Jesuo, nia Savanto.
To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy,
and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our
Saviour.
5 Pro tio mi lasis vin en Kreto, ke vi arangxu la aferojn
mankohavajn kaj starigu presbiterojn en cxiu urbo, kiel mi
ordonis al vi;
For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set
in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in
every city, as I had appointed thee:
6 se iu trovigxas neriprocxebla, edzo de unu edzino, kies
infanoj estas kredantoj, kaj ne estas akuzitaj pri dibocxo,
nek ribelemaj.
If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having
faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
7 Cxar episkopo devas esti sen riprocxo, kiel administranto de
Dio; ne obstina, ne kolerema, ne drinkema, ne malpacema, ne
avidanta malhonoran gajnon;
For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not
selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker,
not given to filthy lucre;
8 sed gastama, bonamanta, sobra, justa, sankta, sinreganta,
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober,
just, holy, temperate;
9 tenanta la fidelan vorton, kiu estas laux la instruado, por
ke li povu admoni pri la sana doktrino kaj ankaux refuti la
kontrauxdirantojn.
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that
he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to
convince the gainsayers.
10 Cxar ekzistas multaj homoj ribelemaj, vantaj parolantoj kaj
trompistoj, precipe tiuj el la cirkumcido,
For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers,
specially they of the circumcision:
11 kies busxoj devas esti fermitaj; homoj, kiuj renversas
tutajn domojn, instruantaj nekonvenajxojn por malhonora
gajno.
Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses,
teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's
sake.
12 Unu el ili, profeto samnacia, diris: La Kretanoj cxiam estas
mensogantoj, malbonaj bestoj, mallaboremaj mangxeguloj.
One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The
Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
13 Tiu atesto estas vera. Tial akre riprocxu ilin, por ke ili
estu sanaj en la fido,
This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that
they may be sound in the faith;
14 ne atentante Judajn fabelojn, kaj ordonojn de tiuj homoj,
kiuj deturnas sin de la vero.
Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men,
that turn from the truth.
15 Cxe la puraj, cxio estas pura; sed cxe la malpuraj kaj
nekredantaj, nenio estas pura; sed ilia menso kaj ilia
konscienco estas malpurigitaj.
Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are
defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind
and conscience is defiled.
16 Ili pretendas koni Dion; sed per siaj agoj ili malkonfesas
Lin, estante abomenaj kaj malobeemaj kaj por cxiu bona faro
senvaloraj.
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him,
being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work
reprobate.
Cxapitro 2
1 Sed parolu vi tion, kio konvenas al la sana doktrino:
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 ke la maljunuloj estu sobraj, seriozmienaj, prudentaj, sanaj
en la fido, en amo en pacienco;
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in
faith, in charity, in patience.
3 ke la maljunulinoj tiel same estu je sintenado respektemaj,
ne kalumniantoj, nek sklavigitaj de troa vino, sed
instruantaj la bonon;
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as
becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much
wine, teachers of good things;
4 por ke ili eduku la junulinojn ami siajn edzojn, ami siajn
infanojn,
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love
their husbands, to love their children,
5 esti prudentaj, cxastaj, hejme laborantaj, bonfaremaj,
submetigxemaj al siaj propraj edzoj, por ke la vorto de Dio
ne estu blasfemita;
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to
their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 konsilu tiel same la junulojn, ke ili estu prudentaj;
Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
7 pri cxio montrante vin ekzemplo de bonaj faroj, en via
instruado montrante sincerecon, seriozecon,
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in
doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
8 paroladon sanan, nekondamneblan; por ke la kontrauxulo
hontu, havante nenion malbonan diri kontraux vi.
Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of
the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to
say of you.
9 Admonu sklavojn, ke ili estu submetigxemaj al siaj propraj
sinjoroj kaj placxantaj al ili en cxio; ne kontrauxdiremaj,
Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and
to please them well in all things; not answering again;
10 ne sxtelantaj, sed montrantaj cxian bonan fidelecon; por ke
ili ornamu en cxio la doktrinon de Dio, nia Savanto.
Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may
adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
11 Cxar jam aperis la graco de Dio, portante savon al cxiuj
homoj,
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared
to all men,
12 instruante nin, ke foriginte malpiecon kaj lauxmondajn
dezirojn, ni vivadu sobre, juste, kaj pie en la nuna mondo,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we
should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present
world;
13 atendantaj la felicxan esperon kaj la malkasxon de la gloro
de nia granda Dio kaj Savanto, Jesuo Kristo,
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of
the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 kiu donis sin por ni, por elacxeti nin el cxia maljusteco
kaj por purigi al si popolon propran, fervoran pri bonaj
faroj.
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all
iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous
of good works.
15 Tion parolu, kaj konsilu kaj riprocxu kun cxia auxtoritato.
Neniu vin malestimu.
These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all
authority. Let no man despise thee.
Cxapitro 3
1 Memorigu ilin, ke ili submetigxu al regantoj kaj estroj, ke
ili estu obeemaj, pretaj por cxiu bona laboro,
Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers,
to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2 ke ili ne parolu malbonon pri iu ajn, estu ne malpacemaj,
sed dolcxanimaj, montrantaj cxian mildecon al cxiuj homoj.
To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle,
shewing all meekness unto all men.
3 Cxar ni ankaux estis iam malsagxaj, malobeemaj, trompitaj,
servantaj al diversaj pasioj kaj voluptoj, vivantaj en
malico kaj envio, malamindaj, kaj malamantaj unu la alian.
For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient,
deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in
malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 Sed kiam aperis la boneco de Dio, nia Savanto, kaj Lia amo
al homoj,
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour
toward man appeared,
5 ne per laboroj faritaj en justeco, kiujn ni mem farus, sed
laux Sia kompato Li savis nin, per la lavado de renasko, kaj
per la renovigo de la Sankta Spirito,
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of
regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 kiun Li ricxe surversxis sur nin per Jesuo Kristo, nia
Savanto;
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our
Saviour;
7 por ke ni, justigite per Lia graco, farigxu heredantoj laux
la espero de eterna vivo.
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs
according to the hope of eternal life.
8 Fidinda estas la diro, kaj mi volas, ke pri tio vi atestadu
kun certeco, por ke tiuj, kiuj ekkredis al Dio, zorgu pri
bonaj faroj. Tiuj aferoj estas bonaj kaj utilaj al la
homoj;
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou
affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God
might be careful to maintain good works. These things are
good and profitable unto men.
9 sed evitu malsagxajn demandojn kaj genealogiojn kaj
diskutojn kaj prilegxajn disputojn, cxar ili montrigxas
senutilaj kaj vanaj.
But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and
contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are
unprofitable and vain.
10 Se iu estas herezulo ankoraux post unua admono kaj dua,
evitu tiun,
A man that is an heretick after the first and second
admonition reject;
11 sciante, ke tia homo perversigxis kaj pekas, estante
memkondamnita.
Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth,
being condemned of himself.
12 Kiam mi sendos al vi Artemason aux Tihxikon, rapidu veni al
mi al Nikopolis; cxar mi decidis travintri tie.
When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be
diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined
there to winter.
13 Antauxen irigu Zenason, la legxiston, kaj Apoloson sur ilia
vojagxo kiel eble plej rapide, por ke nenio manku al ili.
Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey
diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them.
14 Kaj niaj amikoj ankaux lernu dauxrigi bonajn laborojn, por
necesaj bezonoj, por ke ili ne estu senfruktaj.
And let our's also learn to maintain good works for
necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
15 Cxiuj, kiuj estas cxe mi, vin salutas. Salutu vi tiujn,
kiuj amas nin en la fido.
Graco estu kun vi cxiuj.
All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in
the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.
